"Jennifer get up!" hollered Jennifer's mom. Jennifer jumped out of bed, school again. She ran to her closet, grabbed her favorite shirt and pants, then went downstairs. Her mom was downstairs reading the newspaper.
"Mom, can I go to the woods today after school?" asked Jennifer.
"Sure, why not," answered Jennifer's mom. Jennifer then left to start walking to school. While she was walking to school she noticed a dog by the entrance of the woods. The dog was black in color with a dab of white on its nose. While Jennifer kept looking at it, the dog vanished. She didn't even notice that the dog had left. "Stupid dog," she thought. Jennifer just forgot about the dog and kept on walking. When she finally arrived at school, she couldn't concentrate on anything. All she thought about was the dog. She tried her hardest to think, but she just couldn't get herself to concentrate. As the day proceeded, the last bell rang for school to be dismissed. Jennifer ran out the school doors and straight to the woods, she had to find the dog. As she started walking towards the entrance of the woods, she noticed the dog. It was sitting under a short tree with bright, ripe, green leaves. She looked at the dog; the dog ran away again. "Maybe it thinks I'm going to hurt it," she told herself. She ran home and grabbed some money so she could buy the dog something to eat. She then ran to the general store and bought the dog a rich and juicy bone. She thought, "The dog will love this." When she arrived at the woods again the dog was there waiting for her. Jennifer walked towards the dog with the bone in front of her. The dog slowly took the bone and darted away from Jennifer. Jennifer gave up and started walking home, she thought to herself about all the things she could have done with the dog. Jennifer kept on walking forgetting about everything. When she got home, she looked behind her to see if the dog had decided to follow her home. The dog was walking right behind her. She walked into her house and the dog followed. The dog didn't leave her side. Jennifer thought to herself, "This could be a new beginning." When Jennifer's mom walked into the kitchen to greet Jennifer, she saw the dog.
"Oh my gosh," Jennifer's mom exclaimed, I saw that dog in the newspaper this morning. Jennifer looked puzzled. "We better take the dog to Mrs. Robinson, the owner."
Jennifer decided to give the dog to its real owner. After that day, she was jovial she had done the right thing and helped someone find their dog back.
